Some simulated lava flows on the Shamiram Plateau. Example output from the lava flow simulation code. Lava flows (colored regions) are erupted from vents (black dots) that are randomly sampled from a spatial density model of vents on the Shamiram Plateau. Flow-path follows the DEM. The site area is considered to be inundated if the lava flow intersects the white rectangle. In this example, two of the ten lava flows intersect the site and one vent falls with the site boundaries.
